Making your Health Insurance Plan Pay

In the UK many organisations (large and small) included a health insurance plan as part of employees’ benefits package.

These plans usually include dental health, opticians, health screening, hospital in-patient visits, chiropractors etc. Most of these treatments support physical conditions that if untreated may result in absenteeism. Over the last five years or so there has been more awareness of rising levels of mental stress affecting the levels of absenteeism in the workplace. This has resulted in more treatments proven to help reduce stress being added to the list of treatments available under these plans.

New Treatments

Many health plans now include reflexology and Reiki as treatments available to access. It’s great to see that these treatments are now being recognised for their ability to help reduce and more importantly, manage our mental and physical health and wellbeing.

With the inevitable and fast approaching reduction in the services that the National Health Service (NHS) can provide, more health insurance plans are now being purchased by individuals as a much-needed healthcare back-up and to provide peace of mind for themselves and their families.

Making the Most of Your Plan

If you haven’t looked at your plan lately, it’s worth taking a look to see if it will make a contribution towards a monthly treatment of reflexology or Reiki with me. Many of my clients have regular treatments and their plan contributes more than half the costs. By having regular treatments, you’ll be playing an active role in your health and wellbeing. You’re also more likely to become tuned in to your body and which will increase your awareness of any changes that need attending to.

The treatments I offer are currently included in some of the plans offered by the companies listed below.

  • Bupa
  • Paycare
  • bshf
  • Medicash
  • Healthshield
  • Sovereign

If you have a health insurance plan with one of these companies or any other company, it’s worth giving them a ring to check your individual policy for details of your cover. You may be pleasantly surprised.

If you’ve never had a reflexology or Reiki treatment why not give it a go and see if it’s a treatment for you. A financial contribution towards your treatment via the health insurance plan that you are already paying for will certainly help to reduce any financial stress.
