I am passionate about helping people to live their life with less stress. Empowering them to find ways to reduce their stress and anxiety levels is what I love doing.
For over 20 years, working as a complementary therapist, I’ve worked with hundreds of people from different walks of life. The main thing they have in common is high levels of stress, anxiety or worry. After their first treatment session, many people report having:-
- better sleep
- more focus and mental clarity
- feelings of calmness
- feeling more in control
- a reduction in their physical aches and pains
- a reduction in their stress, anxiety or worry levels.
By working with me over 5-7 treatment sessions, many people have been able to reduce and more importantly, better manage their stress, worry and anxiety levels.
Many women find it hard to put themselves first. When they feel stressed, anxious or worried, they don’t appreciate that by putting themselves on their to-do list their stress levels and ability to manage stressful situations would improve. Change will only happen when they have the realisation that they no longer want to feel stressed, anxious or overwhelmed and start looking for support and guidance to make lifestyle changes and create healthier habits.
A few years ago I met Maxine.
Maxine’s Story
Maxine used Google to find a reiki treatment near her. She didn’t know much about Reiki but had heard it was a relaxing treatment for the mind and body. Maxine found my website and saw that I had experience of using Reiki to support people with stress-related conditions and I had also used Reiki in care settings.
Her Consultation
At her consultation, Maxine explained that after over 40 years in the care profession, she was ready to retire. She loved her work and caring for others but she felt that as retirement got nearer, she was starting to feel anxious and guilty about no longer working. Because of her years of experience, she was being asked to return part-time to cover a few shifts. She didn’t want to let anyone down but she also wanted to look forward to having some time to herself without feeling guilty.
After a full consultation, I explained that it wasn’t uncommon for her to feel anxious about her future. Retirement is a major life-changing event and like many life-changing events, it can be a very stressful period in your life. Feeling stress or anxiety can cause you to have physical and/or emotional conditions such as:-
- skin rashes
- upset stomach or IBS
- recurring aches and pains
- increased blood pressure
- difficulty sleeping.
Maxine said she was experiencing some of the above. A Reiki treatment was agreed, as this treatment would help her to relax mentally and physically an it was a treatment sometimes used in the care setting she worked at. The session would also allow her time to focus on herself and calm her thoughts.
Her Results
After the first treatment, Maxine felt relaxed and calm and decided to book another two treatments over the following four weeks. Maxine felt more treatment sessions would help her to feel mentally calmer, relaxed and more positive about her future. They would also give her the opportunity to take time out and relax physically and focus on doing something that was just for her.
During her sessions, as well as having her reiki treatments we discussed what things she could do outside the sessions that would help her to feel less anxious. By having regular Reiki treatments twice a month, combined with additional activities outside her treatment sessions, Maxine started to feel like her old self again and started enjoying her retirement. After three months of reiki and the addition of reflexology treatments, Maxine moved on to having monthly treatments. She booked in for regular time for herself for another 6 months as the sessions allowed her to rest and recharge and she felt more positive and healthier about taking time out for self-care.
Treatment Courses
Following my experiences working with clients like Maxine and the requests I received from other clients, I designed my courses of treatments.
These courses provide treatments as part of a structured programme. During your course, as a qualified life coach, I help you identify how the situation that is causing you to feel stress, worry or anxiety is affecting you physically and emotionally. Then with a combination of treatments and advice on lifestyle changes, I help you to make changes and create habits to help you manage your feelings so that you can feel calmer, in control and have more focus.
