Reflexology for post-lockdown stress

Reflexology is an ancient art dating back thousands of years, first practised by the Indian, Chinese and Egyptian peoples.

But in 2020 in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, is there a place for it in the 21st century?

Reflexology works on the principle that all organs and glands of the body are represented by reflex points on the feet, hands and face. By applying pressure to these points your body can start the process of balancing and harmonising your systems and organs.

It’s well documented that our stress and anxiety levels reduce when we are feeling relaxed and a reflexology treatment has a very relaxing effect on both the mind and body so will help you to de-stress.

As we come out of lockdown many people are still feeling anxious about what the future will look like for them. The future is always unknown but there are things we can do for ourselves to manage our stress levels and feel back in control. A reflexology treatment can be what you need to help you with this. It’s not going to solve all your problems but here are three areas of your life where a reflexology treatment can help.

Three reasons to have a reflexology treatment

1. For a good night’s sleep

When you’re stressed getting a few hours’ sleep can be hard to achieve. During your treatment, your body and mind are able to relax and many people fall into a deeply relaxed state. some even fall asleep.

At the end of their treatment, my clients say they feel well-rested and the next day they tell me that they slept better than they have done in a long time.

2. For increased focusFoot Reflexology, Sharon Taylor, Complete Harmony

When you’re stressed you have less oxygen going to your brain. When you feel worried you will also find it hard to focus which makes decision making difficult.

During a treatment, the brain has time to relax, which will increase your ability to think straight and increase mental clarity.

After a treatment my clients say they feel they can focus better and have a different perspective on stressful situations and how to handle them better.

3. To increase your energy levels

During the lockdown, many people have been doing daily exercise which is good for their mental and physical health. However, long periods of stress can leave you feeling drained. You can feel lethargic and that everything is too much effort even if you have been exercising regularly. During treatments, your energy levels can be given a boost by specific reflex points being stimulated.

Treatments can help to restore the flow of energy helping to make you feel uplifted and give you relief from some of the mental and physical heaviness that can be felt when you’re experiencing stress.

After their treatment, many clients say they feel like they are walking on air. They feel refreshed, mentally alert and re-energised.

I’m known for the results clients achieve from a course of treatments with me. After a chat with Sharon about what she wanted to achieve from having reflexology treatments, she decided to book one of my courses. At the end of her course of treatments here’s what she had to say…

When I decided to have a course of treatments I was suffering with stress and felt stuck in my life, unable to make decisions. I found my reflexology treatments to be very relaxing. After completing my course of treatments I now feel calmer, less stressed and mentally relaxed. My course of treatments has definitely had a positive effect on me as I now don’t overthink things so much, I have more self-confidence and I’m feeling more positive. I have also noticed the change in how others respond to me and how calmer they are too. I would highly recommend a course of treatments with Sharon.
