I’ve been working as a complementary therapist for over 20 years and at the start of my journey treatment programmes were not on my radar.
I’ve worked with hundreds of clients and performed thousands of treatments and I love the variety this has brought me. Each client comes with personal circumstances, challenges and specific needs. At the start of my therapist journey, many of my clients wanted a one-off treatment as a way of pampering session or some me-time and I still see a few clients who want this. These pamper treatments make great gifts for yourself or friends. A one-off treatment can bring quick relief to sore muscles as well as relaxation to your mind and body.
After a while, whenever life got a little more stressful or they were feeling overwhelmed, some clients booked in for another quick-fix treatment.
Who was I seeing?
- An accountant at quarter-end
- Teachers at the end of each term
- A marketing director at the end of a big campaign
- A nurse whenever she could fit it in around her shifts etc.
Why they booked in?
They all booked in for different reasons, such as:
- Tight shoulder, neck and back muscles which they felt were due to work pressures
- Increased headaches due to feeling overwhelmed from caring for a sick relative.
- Low energy and mood due to lack of confidence
- A flair-up of a stress-related condition such as IBS, psoriasis, eczema, or anxiety.
These clients would book an extra quick-fix treatment because they were tired of dealing with recurring physical, mental or emotional discomfort and were looking for regular treatment sessions to address them.
When one client asked to book three treatments over three months I knew I had to change my business model. This client said she could see already increasing her sessions they were having a positive impact on her health and wellbeing. She now wanted to book monthly treatments so that she could have treatment sessions at times that fit into her lifestyle.
Clients booking five or six treatments over three-month periods began to see improvements in their physical and mental health. Clients having regular monthly treatments reported feeling calmer, having more clarity on situations, having more energy and feeling more confident and in control.
One client felt the Reiki treatments she was having helped her deal with a situation that she would have previously found difficult. You can read Maxine’s story here. Another said he was generally more relaxed. He is now enjoying taking holidays, spending more time with his family and enjoying his walks with his dogs.
Treatment Programmes
Following on from these results and together with the feedback I was receiving, I decided to put together Treatment Programmes. These are designed for clients who prefer regular treatments that fit into their busy lifestyles. As well as your treatment, my Treatment Programmes also include bespoke advice and tips on managing your physical, emotional and mental stress levels outside the treatment session.
Here’s what one client had to say about her monthly treatments:
“I booked in with Sharon for reiki and reflexology as I am a busy business owner and mom in need of some serious relaxation and rest! Sharon has healing hands!! The treatments are relaxing and completely rejuvenating. I now book in with Sharon monthly, as it keeps me in the right frame of mind and ensures I give myself the time out I need, so that all my ‘to-do lists’ get done in the most effective way possible.“
